Auntie Steph's visit to see Harper

Harper got to meet her Auntie Steph at 3 weeks old. Steph also took great care of Moss with lots of walks and cuddling at night. Every night Moss would sleep with Steph....I know....we are certainly letting lots of things slide these days!

Harper went to her first football game with Auntie Steph and Dad. The high school behind our home is somewhere we venture on Friday nights in the Fall. Moss guided the way while Mom was having a girls night out!

Harper at 2 weeks

Motherhood the first weeks.

Motherhood definitely suits me. It has been three weeks since my little honey pot landed in my arms taking me on this amazing roller coaster ever since. She changes everyday and I don't think I've missed a minute of it. Actually, I do like the 4-6 hours sleep I get at night. Don't worry...I'm enjoying it while I can.

The first week home, Bob and I lounged around just getting to know her. Eating and sleeping whenever we wanted. So chill and relaxed, we certainly enjoyed the honeymoon phase. We changed roughly 10-12 diapers a day, I nursed her more times than I can count, and watched a lot of TV. We had a few hiccups with the nursing but that was remedied the following week!

The next two weeks, my mom (referred to now as Nana) came down to help. And when I say Help....I mean she did everything for us. She made me iced coffee and egg sandwiches every morning, ironed Bob's clothes, large glasses of ice water at a moments notice (BTW: breastfeeding makes you insanely thirsty), tons of laundry and helped me clean out my closets! Out with the old (maternity clothes) and in with the old (my clothes prior to maternity). Yeah! That's right! I'm in most of my old clothes....and that would certainly be contributed to breastfeeding...you have no time to EAT! And if you do get to eat, you have to eat way later than everyone else and your food is cold..you end up eating about half of it! Don't worry though, the Dietitian in me will keep me healthy for mom and babe. We had so much fun, we went to the movies, I got my hair cut, daily trips to Target and lots of eating out! I'm sure we have had dessert at least once a day, sometimes twice. I will never forget this time, it was very special to me to have my mom by my side for so long and my husband hasn't filed for divorce! You know! Not everyone can do that!! It must have been the ironing:)
Nana had to leave this weekend, we miss her already and are soooo thankful for all her help!

I was totally spoiled on my birthday, August 31st, by my honey. Bob bought me a Mac Book Pro. I am loving it, when I get a chance to play on it! A printer to go with and one of my favorite bottles of wine, Cakebread Chardonnay! I haven't corked the bottle, if I can get a few girlfriends to schedule a date, I would be more than happy to share! We got a date night out and enjoyed every minute of it! We are certainly appreciating the need for fam close by to get a couple hours off to yourself but no worries, Nana is already scheduled to come once a month to see her little Harper Jean...yeah..that is her nickname for her! Oh, and I must conclude with "Bless Her Heart." This is Nana's token phrase when referring to anything Harper related. I'm pretty sure Bob will be monogramming this phrase on a shirt for Nana maybe by Christmas.
